Nigerians on social media are slamming singer Portable after his controversial statement about selling his vote in the 2027 elections.

The uproar started when the musician questioned his followers about their voter cards before declaring he would endorse the highest bidder in the upcoming election.

“Whoever pays me gets my support. The one who improves my life, that’s who I stand with,” Portable asserted.

He further elaborated in Yoruba: “If APC pays first, I’m theirs. If PDP steps up, I’ll take it. Even if Peter Obi meets my price first, I’ll rally my fans behind him—vote for him!”

He justified his stance, stating he wouldn’t back anyone while struggling financially.

“Vote for who favors you, vote for your financial supporter,” he concluded.

The backlash has been fierce, with critics calling him out for setting a poor example as an influencer.
