Nigerian artist Portable, known for his unfiltered opinions, has lashed out at top Afrobeats acts Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, and Burna Boy, claiming they are stifling the development of emerging talents in the industry.
He argued that these artists, who have enjoyed long-standing dominance, are monopolizing the spotlight and preventing new stars from breaking through.
Portable further accused them of exaggerating the value of their luxury items, creating unrealistic expectations for upcoming musicians.
In a candid social media video, he stated, “For more than a decade, Wizkid, Olamide, Davido, and Burna Boy have controlled the scene, making it tough for others to rise. They also spread false claims, like saying a piece of jewelry costs $1 billion when it might’ve been gifted to them.”
The singer urged established acts to stop flaunting wealth in ways that intimidate younger artists striving to make their mark.
He vowed to continue challenging his peers if they don’t change their ways.

“Wizkid, Olamide, Davido, and Burna Boy have been at the top for over 10 years and blocking the way for other artistes to come up… they also lie a lot, they can say they bought a chain for 1 billion dollars, whereas it might have been given to them for free.” — Portable pic.twitter.com/mNNIM122za
