Nigerian comedian and digital content creator Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, widely recognized as Shank Comics, has addressed controversy stemming from a past social media post where he commended disgraced American rapper Diddy’s “mentality.” The resurfaced comments sparked outrage among netizens.
In the now-deleted post, Shank had applauded Diddy’s “relentless hustle” and business acumen while acknowledging the music executive’s eventual moral downfall in his quest for influence.
Facing mounting criticism, Shank took to his đť•Ź account to set the record straight, vehemently denying any endorsement of the embattled hip-hop mogul.
The skitmaker characterized his earlier remarks as an ill-advised analogy comparing Diddy’s narrative to cinematic antagonists, admitting the comparison was inappropriate.
He further distanced himself from Diddy, emphasizing his condemnation of the multiple sexual assault and trafficking allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder.
Shank’s statement continued: “I want to make it unequivocally clear: my previous comments referencing Diddy were poorly conceived and tone-deaf. Let me state without reservation – I neither condone nor justify his actions in any capacity.”
“The disturbing allegations and subsequent legal consequences surrounding Diddy represent the antithesis of everything I stand for. Such abhorrent behavior warrants full accountability. My solidarity lies entirely with survivors seeking justice, and I recognize the need to be more thoughtful with my public discourse.”
