Senegal’s football federation revealed on Tuesday that Patrick Vieira, the former French World Cup champion, has been named the new head coach of the national team. Vieira replaces Pape Thiaw, who was relieved of his duties after the World Cup campaign.
The federation described Vieira’s hiring as a “game-changing decision,” emphasizing his Senegalese roots and the goal of “building a world-class technical structure to elevate the team’s performance in line with national aspirations.”
