Chris Okafor

Nigerian pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry has retracted his public apology to actress Doris Ogala, reversing his stance on the alleged secret affair that sparked controversy last year.

The dispute began when Ogala accused the clergyman of abandoning her after an eight-year romantic involvement, claiming he had promised marriage. Her allegations surfaced after a viral video showed Okafor with another woman.

Ogala demanded financial compensation, further alleging the pastor was involved in illicit activities. Okafor initially offered $10,000, which she dismissed as insufficient given her purported evidence.

During a Sunday service, Okafor publicly apologized to Ogala and other women he claimed to have wronged. Despite his plea, Ogala continued to criticize him online.

In a surprising reversal, Okafor withdrew his apology in a recent sermon, blaming external pressure for his earlier statement. He labeled Ogala as “Jezebel” and vowed to address the matter legally.

“I won’t apologize for something I didn’t do or to someone I’ve never met face-to-face. I was pressured by people I mistakenly considered friends,” he declared.

“My apology was only to protect respected church leaders like Pastor Bishop Abioye and Matthew from being dragged into this mess,” he added, clarifying that his gesture was not directed at Ogala.

The controversy deepened when Okafor’s daughter, Amara, threatened legal action against him for alleged abuse.
