Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider greater rewards for the Super Falcons’ coaches compared to the players.
It will be recalled that President Tinubu granted each Super Falcons player $100,000 and a three-bedroom home, celebrating their remarkable victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The technical team members were also honored with $50,000 each and a three-bedroom apartment in the Renewed Hope Housing Estate.
These incentives were announced during a reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where national honors were also awarded to the players and officials.
During his sermon at the Redeemed Christian Church of God on Sunday, August 3, Pastor Adeboye commended the President for recognizing the team’s efforts.
However, he emphasized that the coaches deserved equal, if not greater, rewards than the players, as their strategic guidance was crucial to the team’s success. The 83-year-old cleric, recalling his own sports background, highlighted that the players’ victory would not have been possible without the coaches’ expertise.
He explained that regardless of talent, players rely on the coaches’ tactical wisdom to secure wins, as strategic decisions ultimately determine match outcomes.
Pastor Adeboye stated, “Victory depends on the coach—their knowledge and wisdom shape success. Without the right strategy, defeat is inevitable.”
He further noted, “To succeed in life’s battles, one must master the art of winning. Wisdom outweighs sheer strength.”
