Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers praised Kelechi Iheanacho’s performance following his pivotal goal in the Europa League clash against Crvena zvezda.
The Nigerian forward made a decisive impact off the bench, securing a 1-1 draw for Celtic with a well-taken effort at the Rajko Mitic Stadium.
“Kelechi’s finish was absolutely top-class,” Rodgers said in a post-match interview with TNT Sports. “His ability to receive the ball under pressure and drive us forward was crucial.”
Rodgers highlighted Iheanacho’s technical ability, emphasizing how his presence bolstered Celtic’s attacking structure.
“We lacked a focal point upfront until he came on,” Rodgers added. “His hold-up play and composure gave us the foundation we needed to compete at this level.”
Since arriving at Celtic Park as a free agent after leaving Sevilla, Iheanacho has quickly adapted, showcasing his quality in both domestic and European fixtures.
