Peller

Nigerian TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat, widely recognized as Peller, has brushed off concerns that the recent nighttime TikTok LIVE restrictions in Nigeria will significantly impact his earnings.

As previously reported by Amonpoint News, TikTok implemented temporary limits on its LIVE feature for Nigerian users during late hours, citing an ongoing safety review.

The platform issued an in-app alert titled “LIVE⚫ Notices – TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria” at midnight (WAT) on Sunday, stating: “We’re temporarily limiting LIVE late at night in Nigeria as part of our investigation to ensure our platform remains safe and our community stays protected.”

This restriction also prevented Nigerian viewers from accessing international LIVE streams during the specified timeframe.

In a Monday Instagram video response, Peller addressed critics who speculated the ban would financially cripple him, emphasizing his diversified income streams beyond TikTok.

“Some people think I’ll be devastated or struggle financially because TikTok restricted nighttime LIVE sessions. The truth is, I represent multiple brands, with each endorsement worth no less than ₦40 million,” he revealed.

The digital creator clarified that while TikTok boosted his visibility, his financial security stems from longstanding brand partnerships and ambassadorial deals.

Peller also highlighted his philanthropic efforts, explaining that he frequently shares gifts received during livestreams with his audience through organized giveaways.

Defending TikTok’s value, he noted its unparalleled potential for rapid audience growth compared to other platforms: “TikTok accelerates success like no other platform. Building a following on Instagram takes considerably more time and effort.”

Addressing critics of late-night streaming, Peller cautioned against underestimating TikTok’s economic impact: “Those advocating for nighttime bans don’t realize how many livelihoods depend on these LIVE sessions.”

He urged policymakers and platform administrators to recognize TikTok’s role in empowering Nigerian youth through digital entrepreneurship and content creation opportunities.
