Nollywood star Osas Ighodaro has opened up about the lingering heartache of losing her mother.
The actress got candid during a recent interview on VJ Adams’ popular talk show, Off The Top.
Though four years have passed since her mother’s death, Osas revealed that grief still catches her off guard at unexpected moments.
Rather than fighting the waves of sorrow, she’s adopted a healthier approach—letting emotions flow naturally before regaining her footing.
“I give myself permission to feel everything, then I pick myself up and keep going,” she confessed.
The award-winning actress finds solace in viewing life’s challenges as fleeting. She holds onto the hope of reuniting with her mother someday, eager to share all she’s accomplished.
With raw honesty, Osas admitted, “The tears still come—it’s been nearly four years, but the loss never truly fades.
“Grief has its own timing. It might hit during an ordinary moment, and suddenly I’m overwhelmed. But now I’ve learned to ride those waves—feel them fully, then let them pass.
“Here’s what keeps me going: this separation is temporary. I’m determined to live fully, to create stories worth telling when I finally see her again.
“That’s my motivation—to build a life so rich, our reunion will be one endless, joyful conversation.”
