Nollywood star Opeyemi Aiyeola has shed light on recent reports surrounding actor Ibrahim Chatta’s emotional announcement of a personal loss.
Previously, Chatta took to Instagram on Saturday, revealing the tragic passing of someone close to his heart—addressing the departed as his “son” in the heartfelt post.
This led to widespread assumptions that the actor had lost his biological child, sparking an avalanche of condolences from fans, fellow actors, and entertainment industry figures.
Among them was Opeyemi Aiyeola, who initially offered prayers for Chatta and his family to find strength during the difficult time.
However, in a follow-up post, Aiyeola clarified that the deceased was not Chatta’s biological son but his godson, who held a special place in the actor’s life.
“Contrary to earlier reports, Ibrahim Chatta did not lose his biological son but a cherished godson whom he adored as his own. May his soul rest eternally. This has been an emotionally taxing period. God grant us peace.” She shared.
A quick review of Ibrahim Chatta’s Instagram profile confirms the update, as the actor revised his original post to specify that the young boy was his beloved godson.
