Anambra State’s pride, Onyinyechi Basil, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 in a dazzling ceremony.

The 25-year-old stunner claimed the prestigious title during a star-studded finale held in Lagos on Saturday night.

Basil captivated judges and audiences alike, triumphing over 21 formidable competitors to take the crown from reigning queen Chidimma Adetishina.

In her emotional victory speech, the radiant winner declared, “My dream is to inspire Nigerian women to embrace their heritage while reaching for global excellence.”



According to Daily Post, Basil now prepares to showcase Nigeria’s beauty on the world stage at Miss Universe 2025.

The competition saw Damilola Bolarinde (Miss Lagos) as first runner-up, Fortune Kurobo (Bayelsa) as second runner-up, and Irene Ikediashi (Ogun) rounding out the top four.
