Chiamaka, after transferring from Paris FC to Brighton, has earned a nomination for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy.

Ballon d’Or 2025

Two Nigerian figures have made the Ballon d’Or 2025 nomination lists unveiled on Thursday.

They are Super Falcons goalkeeper Nnadozie Chiamaka and coach Justine Madugu.

Chiamaka, who recently joined Brighton from Paris FC, is in contention for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy.

The 24-year-old will compete against Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll, Hannah Hampton, and Daphne van Domselaar for the honor.

Madugu, who guided the team to a historic 10th Women’s African Cup of Nations last month, is nominated for Women’s Team Coach of the Year.

He stands as the sole male nominee, facing Renée Slegers, Sarina Wiegman, Sonia Bompastor, and Arthur Elias.

Ademola Lookman, Atalanta’s Serie A star, was the only Nigerian nominated across all categories.
