The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has vehemently denied recent claims suggesting he consumes marijuana, dismissing them as unfounded and malicious.

In a widely circulated video, the traditional ruler addressed a crowd, firmly rejecting the allegations and calling divine retribution upon those spreading falsehoods.

Oba Akanbi attributed the rumors to “wicked individuals” and warned that divine justice would swiftly deal with them.

“These accusations are baseless lies. Unless I truly smoke marijuana—may God remove me from this throne if I do. But those fabricating these tales, may divine wrath find them,” the monarch proclaimed.

His response followed a recent Court of Appeal verdict reaffirming his legitimacy as the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, solidifying his position.

Oba Akanbi celebrated the ruling, reiterating that his reign was divinely sanctioned and impervious to human interference.

“God ordained my throne, and no mortal can dismantle His will,” he stated firmly.

Undeterred by the defamatory claims, the monarch vowed to remain committed to fostering peace and progress within his domain.

“These falsehoods are mere distractions, but my mission—under divine guidance—cannot be derailed,” he concluded.
