Olamide

Nigerian music icon Olamide has revealed that his contemporary Wizkid entered the entertainment scene ahead of him, despite both artists rising to fame around the same era.

While Wizkid’s breakout single ‘Holla At Your Boy’ debuted in early 2010, Olamide’s hit track ‘Eni Duro’ followed later that same year, catapulting them both into the limelight.

The pair were also contenders in the Next Rated category at the 2011 Headies Awards, where Wizkid ultimately took home the accolade.

During a candid conversation with content creator Azeeez, Olamide set the record straight:
“People think Wizkid and I started together, but that’s not true. He was already making moves in the industry at least a year or two before me.”

This timeline aligns with Wizkid’s early appearance on M.I Abaga’s 2008 track ‘Fast Money/Fast Cars,’ well before his solo career took off.
