DJ Chicken

The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced its intention to prosecute social media influencer Ademola Abiodun, better known as DJ Chicken, following a series of reckless driving incidents that endangered lives.

Court documents reveal that DJ Chicken was involved in a collision on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, where he struck two motorcycles, severely injuring a rider and a female passenger. Witnesses reported that he tried to flee the scene without offering assistance.

“The November 1st incident in Sagamu resulted in critical injuries due to Mr. Abiodun’s negligent driving. Instead of rendering aid, he attempted to escape, triggering a public outcry from bystanders,” the ministry’s statement detailed.

The situation escalated on November 23, 2025, when DJ Chicken reportedly lost control of his vehicle in Lekki, narrowly avoiding pedestrians in what authorities describe as his third vehicular mishap within eight weeks.

“The Lekki accident could have turned fatal had it not been for alert pedestrians. With three documented cases in such a short span, Mr. Abiodun has demonstrated a dangerous pattern of behavior behind the wheel,” the release continued.

Authorities emphasize that while traffic incidents are typically handled as civil matters, repeated offenses pose a serious public safety concern requiring criminal prosecution.

“When individuals repeatedly endanger lives through reckless driving, the justice system must respond decisively. Video evidence from two incidents clearly shows Mr. Abiodun’s disregard for public safety,” the statement noted.

Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, the State’s Attorney-General and Justice Commissioner, has ordered an accelerated review of the Sagamu case, prioritizing public protection over civil settlement options.

“The Attorney-General has directed prosecutors to fast-track proceedings, working closely with law enforcement to ensure swift justice in this matter of public concern,” the ministry confirmed.
