Senator Ned Nwoko has reiterated his demand that his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, undergoes rehabilitation for substance abuse.
The lawmaker emphasized this stance during a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stressing the urgency of the situation for her health and their children’s future.
Nwoko disclosed that medical assessments revealed troubling levels of toxic substances in Regina’s system, raising concerns about her long-term well-being. He expressed fear that without intervention, her condition could worsen, leaving their two sons without proper maternal care.
During the interview, the senator recounted multiple emergencies where Regina had to be hospitalized due to suspected drug overdoses. “I’ve rushed her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious three times in the past eight months—these facts are verifiable,” he stated. “How do I explain to our children if the worst happens?”
According to Nwoko, Daniels’ behavior has grown increasingly erratic, shifting from her previously composed demeanor to episodes of aggression and self-destructive tendencies. “This isn’t just about our marriage,” he added. “It’s about ensuring our boys grow up with a mother who’s present and healthy.”
The senator presented alleged toxicology reports as evidence, criticizing those discouraging rehabilitation as complicit in her decline. “Her real enemies are the ones denying the problem while she struggles,” he asserted. “If her family disputes the reports, let’s conduct an independent test—I’ll fund it.”
Nwoko further accused Regina’s inner circle, including her brother Sammy, of enabling her addiction. “Instead of supporting her recovery, they profit from her downfall,” he claimed. “Every time we make progress, they smuggle drugs back to her.”
He also refuted claims by Daniels’ brother regarding a family tragedy linked to substance misuse, insisting medical records disprove the accusation.
The public dispute between the couple escalated months ago after a viral video showed Regina tearfully accusing Nwoko of abuse—a claim he countered by alleging her substance dependency.
In a recent twist, Daniels admitted to drug use but accused her husband of manipulating her into addiction as a control tactic. She also made explosive allegations regarding a private intimate video allegedly in his possession.
