Renowned Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed that despite numerous marriage proposals, she has turned them all down, as she remains focused on finding the ideal life partner.
During a recent interview, the 52-year-old screen icon shared: “Not finding the person I want to spend my life with isn’t a failure. I’ve had many proposals, but I’ve always declined because I’m waiting for the right one.”
She also addressed societal expectations surrounding marriage, cautioning women against making hasty decisions due to external pressures.
“Did you marry just to meet society’s expectations? Look at the rising divorce rates in Nigeria—it’s alarming. Some marriages fall apart even before the ink dries on the certificate.”
Akintola emphasized the importance of raising children with equal values, regardless of gender.
“Teach your sons to respect their bodies just as you teach your daughters. If you get a girl pregnant, your education stops. It’s time to step up and take responsibility.”
She also tackled the issue of online negativity, urging women to seek partners who are ambitious and supportive rather than just financially well-off.
