Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh faces legal action over accusations of performing an unauthorized deliverance ritual on a minor at a school in Abuja.

A lawsuit seeking N200 million in damages has been filed against the actress at the Federal High Court in Abuja by human rights attorney Ikechukwu Obasi, representing the affected JSS 1 student.

Obasi alleged that the Rivers State teenager endured an invasive religious ceremony orchestrated by Dikeh, with footage later posted online without permission. According to the lawyer, this act breached the girl’s constitutional right to privacy as outlined in “Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution and the Child Rights Act of 2003.”

The legal demand includes financial compensation, a public apology, and the immediate deletion of the video from all digital platforms. The suit also seeks a judicial declaration that the incident violated the minor’s fundamental rights to dignity and personal privacy.

The controversy stems from a now-viral clip showing Dikeh conducting a spiritual session on the student during her visit to Durumi II Secondary School in Abuja.
