Popular Nigerian actor Stan Nweze has sparked conversations with a biting satirical video targeting the political climate.
The footage, uploaded to his Instagram on June 26, sees the entertainer darkly quipping that Nigerians ‘can’t truly express themselves anymore without facing potential consequences.’
‘Free speech feels like a relic here. People muzzle themselves daily – scared of what might happen if they voice unpopular truths. We’ve reached a point where honest opinions feel dangerous,’ he remarked with theatrical dismay.
‘Hypothetically speaking, if we still had free expression, I’d probably mention how ineffective this administration appears. But since I’d risk sudden ‘invitations’ from authorities, I’ll just say… nothing at all.’
His eyebrow-raising commentary concludes with an exaggerated whisper: ‘Definitely not calling this government disappointing. Why would I? That would be… problematic.’
