Renowned actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about her strong allegiance to President Bola Tinubu, shedding light on the personal experiences that fueled her political stance.
The veteran thespian disclosed that her backing for Tinubu grew stronger after an opposition supporter attempted to intimidate her over her political preference. She described the incident as a turning point that solidified her resolve.
During a candid conversation on *With Chude*, Akintola emphasized the importance of respecting differing political views, recalling how she doubled down on her support as a direct response to online harassment.
“My support for President Tinubu became even more resolute because someone tried to bully me into silence,” she revealed. “Nigerians must learn to accept that we won’t always share the same opinions—that’s what makes democracy beautiful.”
Akintola also condemned the toxic political climate, citing how fellow actress Joke Silva faced similar hostility. “When I saw the vile comments directed at her, I made a video declaring my stance even louder. No one has the right to dictate my choices,” she asserted.
She concluded with a powerful message: “Disagreement is natural, but bullying is unacceptable. I voted based on my convictions, and no amount of pressure will erase that. Our diversity of thought should be celebrated, not weaponized.”
