Renowned Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, famously known as Baba Ijesha, has declared that people possess greater cruelty than venomous snakes.
This statement comes months after his release from a Lagos correctional facility, where he served a sentence following his conviction on s*xual assault charges brought by comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly called Princess.
In 2021, Princess accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her 14-year-old foster daughter at her home.
After regaining his freedom in November 2025 upon completing a five-year prison term, the actor broke his silence in a viral music video, alleging that Princess orchestrated his downfall.
Sharing his version of events, Baba Ijesha cautioned fans and the public to be wary of deceitful friendships.
He claimed the incident was a calculated trap by Princess, a once-trusted friend, and expressed deep disappointment over the betrayal.
He stated, “I was deceived and imprisoned because of a woman’s scheme. She conspired to silence me—here’s the truth.
“On April 21, 2021, Princess, who I considered a friend, lured me with my favorite meal—pounded yam and egusi soup with bush meat. Little did I know it was a setup. She had earlier proposed a movie role, insisting I portray a younger character to ‘elevate my career.’ Instead, it led me to Kirikiri.
“Upon arrival, strangers were present. While rehearsing lines from a fictitious director, I realized too late there was no film—only a trap. The true culprit remains free, while I suffered unjustly.
“My advice? Trust no one blindly. Humanity’s cruelty surpasses even the deadliest serpents.”
