Renowned Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has emphasized the importance of establishing professional boundaries when collaborating with female co-stars on set.
In a recent interview with BBC News Igbo, Arukwe revealed his commitment to open communication regarding physical interactions in scenes. He ensures mutual agreement on comfort levels before any takes begin.
The accomplished actor explained his process in detail: “Before filming intimate or close-contact scenes, I always initiate a conversation about personal boundaries. This ensures we’re both on the same page about what’s appropriate and comfortable.”
Arukwe stressed that such discussions prevent awkward situations, especially when scenes require physical proximity. His approach has helped maintain professionalism throughout his successful career.
Best recognized for his breakout role as Odogwu Paranran in the hit movie “Love In Every Word,” Arukwe addressed persistent rumors about his off-screen relationships.
He firmly dismissed speculation about romantic connections with co-stars like Bambam, stating: “These are baseless stories. I take my marriage seriously, and my on-screen chemistry should never be mistaken for real-life relationships.”
Reflecting on his iconic character’s impact, Arukwe shared: “The Odogwu role became a career-defining moment for me. It significantly increased my visibility and opened amazing opportunities in the industry.” He proudly acknowledged how this portrayal boosted his recognition across Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
