Jim Iyke

Renowned Nollywood star Jim Iyke has opened up about his journey through divorce, fatherhood, and personal transformation.

In a candid chat with Saturday Punch, the actor emphasized that parenting is more than just words—children absorb behaviors by observing their parents.

He shared that his son reflects every aspect of him, from his fashion sense and body language to his speech patterns, which is why he lives consciously and avoids unnecessary public drama.

Iyke stressed his commitment to raising a child who admires his strength, discipline, and perseverance rather than witnessing a man entangled in turmoil.

When asked about remarriage, the actor firmly stated he has no intention of walking down the aisle again.

He disclosed that his first marriage occurred during an emotional low, just after losing his mother, and was marred by cultural clashes and racial undertones that left him exhausted.

Despite the separation, he maintains a warm relationship with his ex-wife, calling their post-divorce dynamic extraordinary and inspiring.

He elaborated that they’ve cultivated a strong friendship and co-parenting partnership, with his ex-wife still inviting him into family decisions and prioritizing their son’s well-being.

He said: “Marriage isn’t in my future. I own that past chapter completely—she’s amazing, and so am I. But fame magnifies marital struggles, so you need absolute clarity.

“Ours began when I was shattered—right after losing my anchor (my mom). Cultural divides and racial friction, sometimes even within close circles, weighed me down.

“Though the marriage dissolved, our bond didn’t. We’ve created something special—a thriving post-divorce family. She’ll still greet me at arrivals, partner in tow, or seek my counsel. That’s love—putting our child’s stability first.”
