Dr. Cosmas Maduka

Renowned entrepreneur Dr. Cosmas Maduka has voiced strong disapproval of extravagant wealth flaunting across social media platforms.

The billionaire businessman particularly took issue with the popular phrase “money na water,” arguing that it promotes irresponsible financial behavior and misplaced priorities among youth.

During a recent public engagement, Maduka denounced the practice of showering cash at events and ostentatious displays of affluence, labeling these behaviors as toxic influences that degrade societal values.

“Show me any truly successful entrepreneur who utters ‘money na water.’ You won’t find Tony Elumelu saying it, Femi Otedola doesn’t say it, and I certainly never have. When I witness that chaotic money-throwing spectacle at functions, I discreetly excuse myself. These destructive practices represent everything wrong with our current value system.

In my generation, dignified wealth carried itself quietly. Today’s loudest show-offs rarely possess genuine prosperity. Real fortune cultivates humility, not vanity.

We’re poisoning our society’s future by normalizing these toxic displays. This madness must end.”

Don’t applaud such behavior – reject it completely,” he emphasized.
