A landmark deal has been finalized between the Federal Government and Delborough Hotels to construct an ultra-luxurious seven-star hotel in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.
During a signing ceremony held in Abuja on Tuesday, the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Delborough Hotels, formalized a lease agreement for the project, which will be situated within the Arts Village precinct.
Hanatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, emphasized that this partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of leveraging tourism to strengthen economic diversification.
“When I first visited Delborough Hotel in Lagos, I was instantly reminded of the world-class luxury found in Dubai’s top-tier hospitality destinations,” Musawa recounted. “The level of excellence is unmatched—it truly rivals any seven-star property overseas, proving that Nigeria can compete on the global stage.”
“Before taking Nigerian hospitality to the world, we must first establish it at home. Bringing Delborough to Abuja is a strategic step in showcasing our indigenous capacity for premium tourism experiences,” she added.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s full backing for the venture, ensuring its sustainability as a legacy project that benefits future generations.
Dr. Uzochukwu, who also heads Stanel Group, highlighted the economic benefits of the venture, noting that Delborough’s expansion into Abuja will stimulate tourism, foster business connections, and create substantial employment opportunities.
“Today’s agreement is more than a contract; it’s a validation of our relentless efforts to elevate Nigeria’s hospitality industry,” he remarked.
