Nigeria’s Akintoye Named Among 18 Referees For WAFCON 2024

Nigerian official Yemisi Eunice Akintoye has been chosen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) among 18 referees to oversee matches at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Akintoye is affiliated with the Lagos State Football Referees Association.

The 30-year-old earned her selection after excelling at the preparatory training session held in Cairo, Egypt.

She previously officiated in the WAFU Women’s Champions League and the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Morocco will stage the WAFCON 2024 finals from July 5 to July 26, 2025.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana are the current titleholders of the tournament.
