Seyi Law

Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has raised an alarm over the deepening economic crisis gripping the nation, calling for urgent attention to the plight of citizens.

He emphasized that surging inflation and food scarcity are fueling widespread discontent and despair among the masses.

During a candid conversation on the *Inside The Box* podcast, Seyi Law connected the growing public anger to severe financial strain and hunger.

The comedian stressed that leaders must address these issues transparently instead of downplaying them.

“Only by recognizing these struggles can the government begin to ease the suffering caused by ongoing economic reforms,” he asserted.

Seyi Law revealed how policy changes and the naira’s depreciation have hit his personal finances hard.

Supporting his family in the UK has become drastically costlier, with currency exchange rates multiplying his expenses.

While hopeful about long-term benefits, he acknowledged the present hardships:

“Hunger breeds anger—Nigerians are suffering, and their frustration is valid. I feel it too. Leaders must stop dismissing these struggles. Let’s be honest: reforms bring pain now, but with time, we’ll see the gains.

Even my own situation reflects this. Supporting my family abroad was manageable before, but now? Sending Naira to pounds at today’s rates means my costs have more than doubled. If I spent N2 million before, today it’s nearly N5 million. That’s the reality for many.”
