Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerian youths to harness their innate talents to drive societal transformation and address pressing challenges within their communities.
The appeal came through a public statement released on Tuesday, commemorating World Creativity and Innovation Day, observed annually on April 21 by the United Nations. Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo NGO, emphasized that innovation transcends technological advancements—it embodies fresh problem-solving approaches, community empowerment, and pioneering new possibilities.
“Today, we celebrate the brilliance of imagination, the audacity to reimagine possibilities, and the transformative power of creativity shaping our world,” she remarked.
Marking the occasion, Soludo encouraged aspiring innovators: “This World Creativity and Innovation Day, I challenge every visionary youth to unlock their potential. True innovation isn’t confined to tech breakthroughs—it’s about redesigning solutions, elevating communities, and carving pathways where barriers once stood.”
The First Lady highlighted Anambra’s thriving culture of ingenuity across sectors—from vibrant startups and artisanal craftsmanship to educational reforms and workforce development—noting these contributions are building a more dynamic, equitable future for the state.
Her statement further urged sustained investment in youth potential: “We must continue championing daring ideas, nurturing inquisitive minds, and backing our talent pool. Everyone possesses this world-changing spark—it’s time to ignite it.”
Established by the UN, World Creativity and Innovation Day underscores the crucial role of inventive thinking in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The global observance fosters creative collaboration at grassroots and institutional levels worldwide.
