Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has hailed Taiwo Awoniyi’s brilliance after the striker’s heroics in their stunning 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Awoniyi marked his 100th appearance for the Tricky Trees with a brace, leading his team to a memorable triumph against the London giants. The Nigerian forward earned and converted a first-half penalty before sealing the win with a composed finish.

“Taiwo brings an incredible edge to our attack,” Pereira told Vavel.com. “His relentless pressure on defenders creates real problems, and he proved his quality yet again. Though not registered for Europa League, his domestic form is vital for us.”

Awoniyi’s double took his tally to four goals and an assist in 14 league matches this campaign. Nottingham Forest now shift focus to their upcoming UEFA Europa League semi-final second-leg clash against Aston Villa.
