Popular Nigerian content creator Carter Efe recently opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his father, a dedicated police officer who fell victim to a violent robbery attack in Ogun State years ago.
During an emotional interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Carter revealed how his father, after finishing his shift, chose to ride in a police van toward their neighborhood bus stop.
Tragedy struck when they encountered armed criminals disguised in military uniforms conducting a highway robbery. Mistaking them for security personnel, Carter’s father and his colleagues approached—only for the assailants to open fire upon recognizing their police uniforms.
The comedian shared that witnessing his father’s death footage on television and YouTube remains one of his most painful memories. “I saw my dad’s motionless body in his uniform on the ground,” he recounted.
“They were ambushed while trying to assist what they thought was a routine security situation,” Carter explained. “That moment changed everything for our family.”
Despite the trauma, Carter remains resilient: “Pain isn’t new to me. I’ve endured too much to let anything stop my hustle now.” His story highlights both personal tragedy and the dangers law enforcement officers face daily.
