Simidrey

Nigerian actress and media personality Simidrey has taken a stand against an airline after enduring a distressing 24-hour ordeal in South Africa, where she was unable to board her flight despite holding a confirmed business class ticket.

According to her, she purchased a fully paid ticket and received a legitimate confirmation, yet she was repeatedly barred from boarding due to what appeared to be a system error on the airline’s part.

Despite multiple reassurances that her booking was active in their system, Simidrey claimed she was informed that her name was absent from the operating airline’s manifest.

The actress detailed how she was shuffled onto numerous standby lists and alternative flights—only to be turned away each time. The situation worsened when airline staff allegedly offered her the sole remaining seat in economy class, but under the condition that she sign a waiver accepting the downgrade and forfeiting any rights to compensation.

She slammed the airline’s approach as manipulative, emphasizing that surrendering her rightful business class seat after enduring such extensive delays was unacceptable.

Making the ordeal even more difficult was the fact that Simidrey is a nursing mother trying to reunite with her child. The frustration and exhaustion, she said, took a heavy toll on her emotionally.

In a heartfelt video posted online, she demanded accountability, stating that the airline’s mishandling of the situation demonstrated a severe lack of integrity and customer care.
