Afrobeats sensation Rema has shattered records with his groundbreaking debut album, Rave & Roses (Ultra version), achieving an unprecedented milestone on Spotify.

The project now stands as the first African album to cross the monumental 3-billion-stream threshold on the global streaming platform.

This historic feat follows the viral success of Calm Down, the album’s chart-topping single featuring Selena Gomez, which previously became the first African track to amass over 1 billion Spotify streams.

Remarkably, the combined streams of Calm Down‘s various versions account for more than two-thirds of the album’s total streams, while the remaining tracks collectively contributed nearly a billion streams.

Trailing behind Rema’s record-breaking album is Tyla’s self-titled debut project, which has garnered over 2 billion streams, followed by other African giants including Burna Boy’s African Giant and Love, Damini, Wizkid’s Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition, and CKay’s CKay the First – all surpassing the billion-stream mark.
