Renowned Nollywood star Mercy Johnson personally visited an Abuja police station seeking updates on the detention of Sammy West, brother of actress Regina Daniels, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his arrest.
The award-winning actress had previously demanded Sammy’s release through her social media platforms.
Sammy was detained earlier this week as tensions escalated between Regina Daniels and her husband, billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
In a passionate statement, Mercy Johnson condemned the situation, calling it a mockery of justice.
She wrote, “When justice becomes theater, we’ve lost our humanity. A young man vanished—arrested without access to family or lawyers for two days. Transported from Lagos to Abuja, allegedly arraigned straight from the tarmac. Nigeria, what have we become? #WhereIsSamuel #ReleaseSammyOja.”
Taking action beyond social media, Mercy visited law enforcement headquarters for answers.
Footage shared by Regina Daniels shows Mercy exiting a police facility, revealing officers denied holding Sammy in custody.
The actress declared in the video, “We’ve checked everywhere here—he’s not at this station. We’re now heading to FCT Command Headquarters to continue our search.”
