Renowned Nigerian actor Joseph Momodu has achieved a remarkable personal triumph by graduating from Basic Combat Training and earning the rank of Specialist (SPC) in the U.S. Army.
In an emotional social media post, Momodu disclosed that he enlisted on April 12, 2026—two decades to the day after his father, a former Nigerian police officer, passed away—as a tribute to his legacy.
“It’s official: Specialist J.A. Momodu, U.S. Army, 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10 Infantry Regiment, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri,” he proudly announced.
The actor dedicated this career-defining accomplishment to his faith, his late father, and the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II in Edo State, emphasizing that his military service honors the path his father once walked.
Momodu also highlighted passing the ASVAB test on his first try and completing rigorous combat training as pivotal moments in his journey to becoming a Specialist.
