Renowned Nollywood comedian Olatayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has appealed to Big Brother Naija season 10 champion, Imisi, to reconcile with her mother following their public spat.
The veteran actor shared a heartfelt video on Instagram late Sunday, urging peace between the reality star and her family.
Amonpoint News earlier reported the escalating feud between Imisi and her mother, which erupted after the young star’s historic ₦150 million BBNaija victory.
During her time in the reality house, Imisi had opened up about surviving sexual assault at 12, an unwanted pregnancy at 13, and being homeless after her father allegedly ejected her at just 11 years old. “After grandma’s business burned down, survival became a daily battle,” she revealed to housemate Kola.
The situation intensified when Imisi’s mother, in an emotional online video, accused her daughter of neglect post-victory.
Countering these claims, Imisi highlighted their fractured relationship, emphasizing her mother’s prolonged absence during her darkest days. “For years, there was silence between us. Why the sudden interest now that I’m successful?” she questioned.
She further defended herself on social media: “I’ve supported my family financially—including my mother—despite the pressure. This prize money represents my future, not an inheritance to be divided.”
In his viral intervention, Ijebu implored Imisi to honor familial bonds, stating: “A mother’s love transcends all. Kneel before her, seek forgiveness, and let her bless your journey. This public discord must end—for your peace and hers.”
