Renowned Nollywood star Etinosa Idemudia has issued a touching reminder to grown children about maintaining bonds with their aging parents, no matter how far apart they may be.
The actress-producer took to social media to highlight the emotional challenges many parents face as their children build independent lives in different cities or countries.
She emphasized that while careers, marriages, and parenthood naturally consume time and energy, grown children should still prioritize nurturing relationships with those who raised them.
“Parents dream of golden years surrounded by family,” Etinosa reflected. “Yet the reality often unfolds differently—with continents and responsibilities creating emotional distances.”
Her heartfelt post continued: “To all living miles away from home: Your parents’ silent wait for your calls may be their longest heartbeat. Youth fades, but parental love doesn’t clock out.”
“They held tiny hands through scraped knees—now wonder if you’d catch them should they stumble in the quiet of an empty house.”
“Especially for seniors with children overseas—that framed photo on the side table often becomes their closest companion.”
