Nigerian hip-hop artist Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stirred controversy online after humorously claiming that being listed as a wanted individual by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would be a personal milestone.
The rapper’s remark came in response to the EFCC’s recent public notice declaring luxury real estate mogul Olasijibomi “Sujimoto” Ogundele a fugitive.
Jokingly, he implied that making an appearance on the agency’s wanted list, even temporarily, would be a point of pride for him.
He shared on social media: “MY GOAL IS TO SHOW UP HERE ONE DAY. SO I CAN SAY “EFCC TRY ME IF YOU WANT” 🏋🏿 EVEN IF IT’S JUST FOR A WEEK. PLEASE, ARREST ME 🤲🏿🙏🏿.”
His post triggered mixed reactions, with some fans laughing it off while others criticized him for trivializing issues related to financial crimes.
Check out some responses:
Ebuka: “This isn’t funny. The EFCC deals with serious offenses—people’s lives are ruined by fraud. Joking about it is in poor taste.”
NonyeBadGyal: “Easy peasy…just throw cash in a video, tag them, and boom—wanted list unlocked 🔥.”
JayTee: “Wanted by the EFCC? That’s not a flex, my guy.”
LoyalFan_1: “Wait till they freeze your accounts…then you’ll understand the assignment wasn’t a joke.”
KingDavid: “If you get in, don’t expect me to tag along—good luck explaining to your mama.”
RealTalk101: “STOP CLOUT CHASING. FOCUS ON YOUR MUSIC INSTEAD OF SEEKING ATTENTION.”
Timothy_O: “No sensible person would make this statement. The EFCC is losing its credibility with this kind of public perception 🤦🏾♂️.”
