
The entertainment industry mourns the loss of Obafemi Lasode, a multifaceted icon celebrated for his work in music, film, and theater.
Tee Mac Iseli, former head of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, shared the sad news Friday through an online post.
Lasode, who would have turned 71 this December, left us on Friday after seven decades of artistic brilliance.
In his tribute, Tee Mac expressed, “We’ve lost Obafemi Lasode (b. December 4, 1955) – a true pioneer of Nigerian arts: musician, filmmaker, playwright, and visionary producer.
“The creative world grieves this immense loss. Sincerely, Dr. Tee Mac.”
