Tamunosoye Karibi-George, Nigeria’s freshly crowned Miss World 2026, has embarked on a journey to Vietnam, where she will proudly represent her nation at the prestigious 73rd Miss World Festival.
The 26-year-old beauty queen, hailing from Port Harcourt but representing Bayelsa State, stands among fierce competitors from around the globe vying for the coveted Miss World title.
Her triumph at the national finals held at Lagos’ Federal Palace Hotel saw her outshine nineteen other contestants in a riveting showdown, earning her the prestigious Miss World Nigeria crown.
Karibi-George, affectionately known as Soye, has been actively engaging in pre-pageant activities and challenges alongside fellow contestants, showcasing grace and determination in Vietnam.
A graduate of Madonna University in Okija after attending Obiye High School and Obiye Academy, she is not only a beauty queen but also an advocate for inclusivity.
As an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, she champions empowerment through her initiative, Beyond Labels, dedicated to supporting children with special needs.
Her platform seeks to break barriers, fostering an environment where every child—regardless of ability—can thrive and realize their dreams.
Prior to her Miss World Nigeria victory, Karibi-George earned the Miss Africa International 2024 title in Accra, Ghana, solidifying her position as a formidable presence in the pageant world.
In a heartfelt Facebook post before departure, she shared her mission:
“With a purpose bigger than myself, I set off to Vietnam not just for a crown, but to embody Nigeria’s strength, culture, and unwavering spirit.”
She emphasized that her journey goes beyond beauty, rooted in advocacy for the Beyond Labels Initiative and her belief in recognizing individual potential.
As festivities unfold in Vietnam, the delegate will participate in rigorous assessments evaluating intelligence, communication, and commitment to social causes.
Her presence presents a golden opportunity to amplify Nigerian heritage on the global stage while furthering her passion for empowering children with disabilities.
The grand finale awaits, where Karibi-George will strive to bring home the Blue Crown while honoring the heart of her advocacy mission.
