Bright Edafe

Delta State Police Command spokesperson SP Bright Edafe has sparked a crucial debate by advocating for mandatory DNA testing following childbirth.

In a recent post on his X account, Edafe highlighted a troubling case of paternity fraud unfolding in Uvwie Local Government Area.

According to his account, a man in his fifties uncovered his wife’s infidelity with multiple partners, prompting him to conduct DNA tests on their three children.

The shocking results revealed none of the children were biologically his.

Edafe explained that while the matter was reported to authorities, police intervention was limited as it fell outside their legal jurisdiction.

His thought-provoking post questioned: “Should DNA tests be mandatory at birth?”

“A disturbing case emerged in Uvwie LGA where a husband (identity protected) discovered alarming messages on his wife’s phone. One particularly shocking message read: ‘How are my two kids?’ Further investigation exposed her involvement with over twenty different men.

“The devastated husband, now in his fifties, proceeded with DNA testing for their three children – with devastating results confirming none were biologically his. This raises serious questions.

“While attempts were made to involve law enforcement, this heartbreaking situation unfortunately doesn’t constitute a criminal matter.”
