Renowned Nigerian gospel artist and pastor Nathaniel Bassey recently shared a powerful testimony of how God’s unmistakable direction brought him and his wife together, emphasizing the importance of divine confirmation in marriage.
During a sermon, Pastor Bassey revealed that his wife was deep in a month-long fast with her church, themed “Two Are Better Than One,” when she sensed a spiritual nudge that he was her destiny.
“She prayed, ‘Lord, this is a lifelong decision—I need a clear sign,’” he recounted, highlighting her earnest plea for certainty.
On the last day of her fast, she attended a service and specifically asked God to confirm Nathaniel’s name twice. During the scripture reading, the minister mistakenly quoted John 1:48, saying, “Jesus saw Nathaniel under the fig tree,”—then repeated the same slip after correcting himself.
“That was her divine confirmation,” Pastor Bassey shared with a smile. “Our union was sealed by God’s voice.”
Encouraging believers to rely on divine guidance, he referenced Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.”
The inspiring story has resonated widely, reinforcing faith in God’s perfect timing and direction for life’s most important decisions.
