Renowned Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely recognized as Sabinus or Mr Funny, has officially addressed speculations surrounding the end of his marriage.
Sabinus tied the knot with his UK-based ex-partner, Ciana Chapman, in an intimate ceremony last year.
However, earlier this year, rumors about their marital crisis dominated social media, with allegations of domestic abuse, infidelity, and parental neglect surfacing.
In a recent live session on TikTok featuring fellow comedian Carter Efe, Sabinus firmly denied being married, stating that their relationship had ended amicably.
He emphasized maintaining a cordial relationship with his daughter’s mother, ensuring their child’s well-being.
“I’m not married despite what people are saying. Our separation was peaceful, and my daughter’s mother and I remain on good terms. My baby girl is happy and healthy,” he clarified.
Contrary to gossip, I’m currently unmarried. My child’s mother and I parted ways peacefully, and she respects our decision.

In related news, Amonpoint News previously covered Sabinus’s revelation about his father’s initial disapproval of his comedy career.
During a chat with VJ Adams, the comedian disclosed that his father had envisioned him as a lawyer, but after failing to gain law school admission, he pursued Linguistics and Communication Studies instead.
While at the University of Port Harcourt, Sabinus discovered his knack for comedy and started producing skits.
Upon learning of his son’s unconventional career path, his father reportedly expressed disappointment, labeling it a “frivolous pursuit.”
However, Sabinus won him over by sharing his financial success from comedy, eventually earning his father’s support.
