Afamefuna Klint Igwemba, the celebrated Nigerian comedian popularly known as Klint Da Drunk, recently opened up about his pivotal transition from music to comedy.
During a candid interview on Naija FM Lagos, the humorist revealed that while studying at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) in Enugu, he initially aspired to be a musician. However, witnessing 2Face Idibia’s electrifying campus performance made him reconsider his path.
Klint emphasized that he has no regrets about switching careers, expressing immense satisfaction with his journey in comedy.
Recalling the defining moment, he said, “I was deep into music before 2Face joined IMT. At a campus event, his performance was so mesmerizing that I walked out mid-show. The organizers begged me to stay and perform afterward, but after hearing just two lines from him, I knew—this wasn’t my lane.”
“Had I realized sooner that our styles diverged, perhaps I might’ve kept making music. But looking back, I’m grateful for the pivot. Comedy is where I truly belong.”
“Music was my first love until 2Face stepped into IMT.”
