DeeOne

Popular comedian and ex-Big Brother Naija star Aderombi Adedayo, widely recognized as Dee One, has disclosed receiving an official summons from Nigeria’s Force Intelligence Department (FID) for a scheduled discussion.

The entertainer shared details of the police invitation via his X account on Thursday, quoting verbatim from the document issued by the FID Commissioner.

The correspondence, framed as part of an investigative process, requests Dee One’s presence at the FID Annex Office in Lagos under the supervision of the OCCIOS unit.

Speculating about the reason behind the summons, Dee One suggested it might relate to a controversial video he recently published that sparked widespread debate and numerous inquiries.

While acknowledging the mixed reactions to his content, the comedian maintained his stance, affirming he stands by his remarks and sees no need for remorse.

He emphasized his right to free expression, stating he merely voiced his perspective as a concerned Nigerian citizen regarding certain observations.

“After witnessing peculiar events involving our nation’s leadership abroad, I felt compelled to share my honest thoughts. If this invitation stems from that video, I want to clarify – I engaged in no cyberbullying nor made disparaging remarks about any official or their family members.”

Addressing Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun directly, Dee One confirmed his intention to comply with the request, scheduling his appearance for the coming Monday.

The comedian pledged to keep the public updated regarding any developments related to this police interaction.
