Renowned chef and Guinness World Record achiever Hilda Baci has pledged N2 million to bolster efforts seeking justice for the late Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje, a 13-year-old victim of abuse.

Ogbanje tragically passed away in 2018 following prolonged alleged assault by her caregivers, sparking nationwide outrage.

Baci reflected on Ochanya’s story, describing her as a child who deserved safety and love but was betrayed by those entrusted with her care. She highlighted the importance of aiding survivors still grappling with the aftermath of such violations.

She emphasized that commemorating Ochanya’s life demands actionable steps beyond social media activism—urging financial support, systemic accountability, and grassroots involvement to prevent others from suffering in silence.

“A young girl, just 13, was robbed of safety and love by the very individuals who should have shielded her.

“Her story is a stark reminder of countless survivors battling invisible scars, striving to reclaim their lives,” Baci shared in an Instagram post.

The donation will be divided between two reputable NGOs committed to assisting survivors of abuse, chosen with community suggestions.

“I’m committing N2 million to organizations dedicated to supporting survivors of abuse.

“Help me identify two trustworthy NGOs—comment your recommendations or tag them below for my team’s review,” she stated.

Additionally, Baci directed attention to a GoFundMe initiative aiding legal proceedings and encouraged advocacy for those unable to contribute financially.

“Every donation fuels the fight for justice. If you can’t give, use your platform to amplify this cause,” she urged.

She framed the initiative as a unified call for empathy and justice, asserting that securing justice for Ochanya empowers others in similar battles.

“Honoring her legacy means transforming outrage into action—ensuring no survivor faces their struggle alone,” she affirmed.

Her commitment has garnered acclaim online, with supporters applauding her transparency and rallying behind the revived #JusticeForOchanya movement.
