Nigerian political tensions escalated after Bashir Ahmed urged law enforcement to detain US missionary Alex Barbir, following a viral video where Barbir criticized President Bola Tinubu regarding the deadly Palm Sunday assault in Jos, claiming over 25 lives.

Popular Nigerian artist Skales launched a scathing attack against former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, branding him a terrorist sympathizer and questioning his priorities amid national turmoil.

The uproar began when Ahmad demanded authorities probe Alex Barbir, accusing the American missionary of instigating unrest with his criticism of Tinubu’s handling of the Jos massacre.

Ahmad posted, “If Nigeria collapses—exactly as this saboteur, Alex Barbir, advocates—he’d flee abroad, leaving Nigerians to suffer. Our nation must act firmly against anyone fueling discord.”

Skales fired back, linking Ahmad and ex-President Buhari to Nigeria’s worsening crises. His tweets read: “You’re a disgrace! While citizens starve, terrorists you enabled under Buhari thrive. May your family taste this suffering!”

In another outburst, he added, “Terrorist apologist! Your downfall will be cheered. Why mourn lives lost when you ignore the bloodshed? You’re Nigeria’s curse.”

The singer’s tirade culminated with: “Worthless coward! If I saw you, I’d slap your ugly face. You and Buhari ruined this nation.”
