Nigerian music sensation Seyi Shay has finally opened up about the real reason behind her strained relationship with award-winning artist Tiwa Savage.
During a candid interview on the OffAir Show, the “Yolo” hitmaker disclosed that their once-close friendship collapsed due to a shocking betrayal involving Tiwa’s former husband, TeeBillz.
Seyi revealed she remained in the dark about the cause of their fallout for years until a chance encounter with an ex-employee brought startling revelations. According to her, this former personal assistant confessed to having an affair with TeeBillz while still working for Seyi.
The singer recalled how the woman reached out years later to apologize, admitting the illicit relationship that allegedly influenced Tiwa’s decision to cut ties with Seyi.
Seyi expressed deep regret about the situation, emphasizing she was completely unaware of the affair during her working relationship with the assistant. She described how painful it was to realize Tiwa might have believed she was complicit in the betrayal.
“The truth only came to light when my ex-PA approached me after seven years,” Seyi shared. “She took responsibility for potentially damaging my career and revealed this shocking secret.”
“Imagine discovering someone you trusted was secretly involved with your friend’s spouse,” she continued. “What makes it worse is Tiwa probably assumed I knew. That level of betrayal would make anyone furious.”
