Mr Real

Afrobeats star Mr Real has openly condemned the Nigerian music industry and fans for prioritizing entertainment amid escalating national insecurity.

In a candid video statement, the “Legbegbe” hitmaker slammed artists for releasing new tracks and partying while the country grapples with violence and instability.

The singer revealed he has halted his own music releases, stating that the grim realities in Nigeria have left him creatively paralyzed.

He expressed, “Every morning brings horrifying headlines. I can’t even bring myself to release music right now—how are other artists doing it? What kind of mindset does it take to keep promoting songs when our nation is collapsing?

“People are losing their lives daily. Criminals are profiting from chaos, yet nightclubs remain packed. Something is fundamentally wrong.

“Yes, we all want to live our lives, but this numbness isn’t natural. Are we hypnotized into accepting this madness as normal?”
