In celebration of its fifth anniversary in Nigeria, Spotify unveiled its all-time rankings, showcasing the platform’s top-performing artists and tracks.
Asake claimed the coveted number one spot, surpassing Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Seyi Vibez, who secured second and third places, respectively.
The prestigious list also featured Burna Boy in fourth position and Davido rounding out the top five.
Spotify’s milestone announcement extended to Nigeria’s most-streamed tracks, where Asake dominated once again with his hit single ‘Remember’ taking pole position.
The chart featured notable entries including Ayo Maff and Fireboy’s ‘Dealer’, Fido’s ‘Awolowo’, Wizkid’s ‘Kese’, and Asake’s ‘Lonely At The Top’ completing the top five.
Nigerian artists demonstrated their continental influence by dominating Spotify Kenya’s charts, with Ruger’s ‘Asiwaju’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Fireboy’s ‘Bandana’, and Asake’s ‘Lonely At The Top’ claiming top spots.
Kenyan artist Bein broke the Nigerian stronghold with his viral track ‘Inauma’ securing fourth place.
Ghana’s Spotify charts witnessed a cross-border collaboration triumph as Odumodublvck’s ‘Wotowoto Seasoning’ featuring Black Sherif led the rankings.
