Renowned Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has urged Nigerian leaders to provide citizens with the means to protect themselves amid escalating nationwide insecurity.
In a recent social media post, Kadiri voiced deep concerns about the increasing violence, kidnappings, and widespread fear gripping communities. She emphasized that Nigerians should not have to live in constant terror, advocating for proactive security measures.
“Safety is a fundamental human right, not a luxury,” she wrote. “People deserve to feel secure in their own country without waiting for external intervention.”
Her statement resonated widely, sparking an outpouring of support from Nigerians who echoed her call for urgent government action. Many lamented the repeated failure of security forces to curb rising criminal activities.
